This is representative sample of the scenery on the road from Taupo to Auckland. There actually is a town called Hobbiton -- we stopped fairly close to there for a coffee break. (Ariel adds: The town is actually called Matamata, but the main drag has a "Welcome to Hobbiton" sign. You can take a bus tour from town to the actual LOTR set.)
